Registered Midwife
***Now Taking Clients!***
My interest in becoming a midwife began with the pregnancy and birth of my first child in 2006. I experienced a sense of autonomy, self determination and empowerment that changed my perspective on my life going forward.
I was born in North Bay, but consider Kingston my home town, having lived there for about 25 years. I started my career in Northern Ontario at Laurentian University, and then spent my first three years of practice in London, where I had the privilege of taking care of the Amish and Mennonite communities, an experience I will never forget and one that solidified my belief in the strength and will of the birthing person. I have been working in BC since 2015 in South Surrey, White Rock, and now in Victoria since 2018.
My favourite thing about this work is experiencing the diversity in our communities, and witnessing the transformation that occurs physically and emotionally within ourselves.
When I'm not working, I enjoy downhill skiing, crossfit, sewing, doing crafty DIY things, spending time with my dogs Willow and Karma, and my two teenagers Lily and Sascha. Recently, I learned how to ride a motorcycle!
I'm really looking forward to supporting you through your time with us at Brix Wellness, and can't wait to meet you and your baby on the inside and out!
