Registered Dietician

Adrienne Grange is a registered dietitian (RD) in Victoria, British Columbia completed a Comprehensive Dietetic Internship with the Southeastern Ontario Dietetic Internship Program in Kingston Ontario, including affiliations with Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington (KFL&A) Public Health, Kingston General Hospital, Hotel Dieu Hospital, St. Mary’s of the Lake Rehabilitation Hospital, and Kingston Community Health Centres. Adrienne completed a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Nutrition and Food from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University) in Toronto.

 

Prior to becoming a dietitian Adrienne accomplished a career as a professional ballet dancer and trained and performed with renowned schools and ballet companies both nationally and internationally.   After this, she devoted herself to competitive rowing through university and is currently a competitive runner.  Exposure to such athletic endeavours has proven to be an asset to Adrienne’s working knowledge of exercise physiology and sports nutrition.  Her passion for health and fitness complements her dietetic pursuits. 

 

Working as a dietitian, Adrienne has a strong understanding of human nutritional needs as it relates to health, lifestyle, and chronic disease.  Her counselling experience includes many areas of nutrition including functional nutrition approaches to wellness and chronic disease prevention, diabetes management and heart disease, weight management, eating disorders, irritable bowel syndrome and food sensitivities, sports nutrition, and nutrition through the lifespan.  In addition, Adrienne has developed educational resources, providing guidance to individuals and groups in areas such as balanced eating, diabetes management, supermarket shopping tips, and food preparation.

 

At home, Adrienne is a mother of three boys, enhancing her practical understanding of family eating, healthy food preparation, and time management.  She believes that food is the key to good health and longevity.  Mindful eating, food exploration, and food preparation, accompanied by a healthy lifestyle, are vital to optimal health and well-being.  Furthermore, Adrienne believes in the empowerment of individuals to make their own lifestyle changes and is committed to helping clients set realistic goals for nutritional change that will lead to an improved quality of life.
